Ikaho, Gunma (24 April, 2005)

180km away from Tokyo, Ikaho is the famous hot spring halfway up Mt. Haruna.  We drove there
to just enjoy public hot spring to get rid of daily tiredness.  We didn't expect good shutter
chances, but fortunately, the hot spring village had just welcomed late spring-- some cherry
trees were blooming.
From Ikaho hot spring, you can look down
upon the world below.  Far away can be seen
snow-covered mountains.
Somei-Yoshino is the most popular cherry
trees for blossom.  However, Yae-Zakura
also brings beautiful blossom.  Compared to
Somei-Yoshino, Yae-Zakura flower is more
volumed.  I found some Yae-Zakura trees in
a garden of a house-- they were beautiful
reflecting sun-set light.
