Iwata (02 May 2005)
Iwata is located in 130km east of Nagoya, 200km west of Tokyo. This mid size city is famous for a pro-football team, Jubilo.
We read an article in the news paper saying that wistaria trellises are beautiful at a temple there. A bit far away from Tokyo, but yes they were actually beautiful.

800-year-old trees are designated as local and national natural monuments. 1.5m long bunches are hanging down from the trellises, which cover the entire garden of the temple. We were struck by the beauty of light purple wistaria.

We moved to "Azalea Park" nearby, but unfortunately it was too late for azalea blossom. Rather, iris was beautiful.
