I made a business trip to Izumo Region-- old name of Shimane Prefecture. Izumo is facing the
Japan Sea-- legends say that the first Japanese culture emerged here about 1,800 years ago
because of easy access to the Korea Peninsula from which Japan imported Chinese culture.
There remains many heritages that actually prove such legends.
I visited Matsue, central city of this region and Izumo Taisha, one of the oldest and the most
respected Shinto Shrines in Japan.
