Matsue, Shimane (26 April, 2005)

Matsue is the centre of Izumo Region and a castle town.  Located between two big lakes,
Matsue is famous for seafood.  Since one of the past  feudal lords was a tea ceremony master,
tea ceremony culture has been developed in this town.

The Matsue Castle is a comparatively big one with a big tower.
Built in mid 1600s, this castle tower is the
second biggest one.  Of course this is
wooden.  This tower is built at the top of a hill,
and you can have entire view of the town from
the top floor of the tower.
Yae-Zakura Cherry was
very impressive.  I tried
to express the grandeur
of the castle, but well...
that is very difficult.
The season of azalea has started.  I like this
foto.  A wooden western style building behind
can be a good accent.
