Yushima Confucian Temple
Yushima Confucian Temple was originally founded as "the College" in 1,690 A.D. by the 5th Tokugawa Shogun Tsunayoshi to promote Confucian education for the Samurai class. Since then, this facility had been regarded as centre of Confucian study during the Edo era. After the Meiji Restoration, the position as centre of study was handed over to the Ministry of Education, but still many students believe its divine favour for successful study.
